How often are the photographs updated?
The server auto-updates every 15 minutes - on the hour, quarter past, half past and quarter to the hour.

Why is my browser still showing old photographs?
The web page may have cached on your PC - click the browser 'refresh' button.

The photos are rated according to how many views they've had, is there a prize for the most viewed?
No, it's just for fun.

Submitting a photo

Do I need to register to post photos?
NO - just send your photos from your phone to photos@phonebin.com (Making sure you have read the terms & conditions) and your photo will appear on the site within 15 minutes!

How do I send a photo from my phone to PhoneBin?
Send your photo from your phone via email or MMS. Your subject header becomes the subject of the photo and the body of your email / MMS becomes the comment underneath your photo.

How much does it cost?
Nothing it is completely FREE!! (Except for your network operator costs).

Should I use MMS or email?
It is completely up to you - BUT for best results, email is best!

You may be able to use MMS as soon as you purchase your phone, but if you set up your email you can send larger photos (up to 120k as apposed to 20-30k with MMS). Emailing from your phone is probably cheaper (10-30p as apposed to 40p on MMS - please check with your service provider).

What are the best settings?
Set your phone to maximum size and highest quality, for best results make sure your subject is well lit and the closer you are to your subject the sharper the photograph will be.

If you have email set up on your phone please use it to send the photo, the quality will be better and it will probably be cheaper to submit (see question above).

I don't have a photo-phone. Can I submit a photo from another source?
No, this site is just for photo-phones. Sorry!

I don't have my own Phone Album, can I submit a photo anyway?
YES, email your photo from your phone to photos@phonebin.com (Making sure you have read the terms & conditions). It will appear in the general galleries but not in a photo album.
OR you can send your photo to an open album - PhoneBin has a selection of open albums (categories) to send your photos to.

What is an open album?
PhoneBin has a selection of open albums (categories) to send your photos to. Email your photos from your phone directly to an Open Album by emailing that AlbumName@phonebin.com (email a picture of your cat to animals@phonebin.com and your photo will appear in the animals album as well as on the homepage).

Can I send more than one photo at a time?
Yes, you can send up to 3 photos in one email.

Why doesn't my name appear underneath my photo?
PhoneBin searches your submission for your username (You may be able to set this up on your phone) if it can't find your name a censored version of your phone number is used underneath your photograph.

If you create your own album we will add your username to our database. Alternatively email admin@phonebin.net with your phone address, a link to the last photo you submitted and the username you would like and we will add it to our database.

Why hasn't my photo appeared?
Question: Did you remember to attach the image? (Sounds obvious, but one of the most common causes)
Question: Have you waited 15 minutes?
Question: Is it a re-post? We don't allow re posted photos, it'll get boring if the same photos appear over and over again.
Question: Is it a photograph of a copyrighted image, downloaded from the web, a photo of a poster or off your computer screen / TV?

If the answer is no to all of the above please email admin@phonebin.net and we'll sort ya out...

Your Photo Album

How do I get my own PhoneBin album?
Click here to fill in a simple form (it takes about 30 seconds) and we will create an Album for you. We will email you when the album is set up and to confirm your details (Usually within one working day). All you then have to do is submit a photo to you album within 48 hours to activate it.

How much does a PhoneBin album cost?
Nothing, it's FREE!!

How many photos does my PhoneBin album hold?
As many as you send, there is no limit!

Can I go straight to my album without visiting the homepage?
YES - Simply point your browser at http://www.phonebin.com/YourAlbumName

How can people find my album?
Your photos will appear on the homepage with a link to your album underneath them and your album will be listed in our Albums Library.

I requested a PhoneBin album but I haven't heard back from you!
We try to set up all photo albums within one working day, we then email you as soon as it's set up. Make sure your email address is correct in the album form - if you haven't hear from us in 2-3 working day please email admin@phonebin.net and we'll sort it it out for ya...
